Dear Edwina JR. is a heartwarming musical about the joys of growing up, from the creators of Junie B. Jones, The Musical. Written in a “show-within-a-show” format, Dear Edwina JR. is the perfect “girl power” musical for a new generation.
Dear Edwina JR. follows the adventures of plucky advice-giver-extraordinaire, Edwina Spoonapple, as she directs the neighborhood kids in a series of buoyant production numbers for the latest edition of her weekly "Advice-a-Palooza.” Edwina and her friends share wisdom on everything from trying new foods to making new friends, through clever, catchy and poignant songs.

Possible Live Stream Performances!
Ages 12-18
Director: Allegra Williams-Stirrat

Following the international acclaim of the hit motion picture, television series and stage show, Fame The Musical JR. is nothing short of a global phenomenon.  Fame JR. features a high-energy, contemporary pop score (which includes the hit title song) and a touching coming-of-age story.
Set during the last years of New York City's celebrated High School for the Performing Arts in the early 1980s, Fame JR. is the bittersweet, but ultimately inspiring, story of a diverse group of students who commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work. With candor, humor and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today.

           1pm - 6pm
  • WHERE: Culver West Alexander Park, 4162 Wade St.

Kids will have an amazing experience auditioning for, rehearsing and performing (on-camera) Broadway musicals.
Under Covid-19 CDC guidelines and restrictions, there will be no live performances, so we will gear our performances for the camera. Kids will learn on-camera performance technique as well as stage performance technique.  Lots of great music and characters... Groups will be limited to 12 participants, with a limited number of staff.

COVID-19 Restrictions:

  • At the beginning of each session everyday, every staff person, every camper AND parent or related adult who drops off the camper will have their temperature checked at sign-in. (The results will be recorded and sent to the powers that be).
  • Campers and staff will be required to observe social distancing of 6 feet and to wear masks throughout the day except when we are outside on eating breaks.
  • There will be limited use of props and each participant will be responsible for their own costumes.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available always. Each participant will be responsible to bring his/her own mask (although we will have extras, just in case!)
  • No LIVE performances with an audience. but we are working on arranging for a LIVESTREAM platform.

Some great news:

  • IF your child joins us, with just 12 kids in each cast, she/he will receive more personal attention than you could ever imagine!
  • EVERYONE will have an amazing learning experience and plenty of time to shine!
  • We will spending a good amount of time outdoors... possibly even doing some staging outdoors!
  • Socialization: The kids will finally be able to do something productive and FUN with their friends some old, some new... (although there will be no touching allowed, no hair braiding, etc.)
  • Although, there will be no live performance with a live audience, we are currently working on securing the rights to go LIVESTREAM... really good news: you can invite anyone you want from ALL OVER the WORLD!!
  • AND our kids will be learning on-camera performance skills as well as improving stage performance technique.
